SILVER SPRING, Md., Jan. 29, 2007 – Kern County Treasurer-Tax Collector Jackie Denney today announced an upcoming online tax auction for Feb. 26-28, 2007. The auction is being conducted by Bid4Assets, the leading online auction service provider for forfeited, surplus and tax-defaulted government property. Minimum bids start as low as $500, and no properties in the auction have a reserve price. Bidding opens at 8 a.m. PST on Feb. 26 and ends at various times on Feb. 28. A deposit of $5,000 (plus a $15 processing fee) is required in order to bid on the properties and should be submitted by 1 p.m. PST, Feb. 20, to allow for sufficient processing time.
